Tōtara Haumaru Building

Gyn Ward (Tahi Ward)

How to get there

The gynaecology ward is located on level 1 of the new Totara Haumaru building.

It is directly in front of you as you come out of the second sky bridge.

Preparing to attend

Think about acute presentations that could be admitted under gynaecology. Look at your logbook and see what you need.

Think about the types of operations done by gynaecology.

When you arrive

Go to the morning handover at 8am in the Maternity Seminar Room on level 2 of the main building.

You are welcome to leave you bag in the doctors office in the Lake view room (through Hineora Ward) or in the lockers outside that room.

When the team does morning introductions, introduce yourself and say you are the 5th(6th) year student on Gyn Ward today. This way the Wards SHO will know to take you with them after handover.
